The varsity boys basketball team lost a 50-43 decision at home to Hopewell-Loudon. Carson Slates scored 18 points and Izaiah Wilson had 13. The JV team lost, 42-37, as Parker Boss scored 12 points.

They learned about spy message tactics used during the Revolutionary War, their Flag Design Committee discussed ideas to incorporate into a new USA flag based on the ideas and values of the colonies, and lastly - a photo of students wearing superhero gear for School Counselor's Spirit Week! The girls varsity basketball team lost a 53-41 decision at home to Gibsonburg. Senior Kara Schneider scored 12 points. The JV team won, 29-14, as Abbie Schmeltz scored 10 points. The varsity team hosts Northwood Saturday at 2 p.m. in their first Div. VI OHSAA tournament game.

Shout out to our Power of the Pen team! They competed over the weekend and Reagan Walpur got an 11th place award for 7th grade. Mrs. Makulinski should know the official ranks and who moves on to the regional tournament by the end of the week! Fingers crossed, Wildcats! Good luck!

The boys HS wrestling team was 6th in the 29-school Rossford Invite. Bailey Jendrzejak was the runner-up at 215 pounds while Wyatt Thieroff (120) and Michael Seeger (190) placed third. Aiden Cordy (132) was 4th, Landon Rich (165) was 5th, and DJ Orcelletto (144) 6th.

The HS girls wrestling team finished 6th in the 24-school Rossford Invite. Addison Overymyer (125) and Satori Alter (155) both finished second in their weight class. Stella Strong (135) was 4th, Hope Scherger (130) 5th, and Vida Hernandez (120) and Molly Hower (145) were 6th.

Junior Emily Lang placed 5th in the 500 freestyle at the Div. II sectional meet at Oak Harbor with a time of 5:48.62. She placed 10th in the 200 freestyle (2:11.80). She is expected to qualify in both events for the district meet Friday at BGSU.

The boys seventh grade basketball team captured the SBC River Division championship with a 50-31 win over Lakota. The Wildats led 14-2 after one quarter and 25-5 at halftime. Grayson Thatcher scored 17 points, Joe Barr added 10 points, Chase Allen had 9, and Avery Clouse had 8.
